Rating: 5/5 Great for a 2012 4GB Mac mini when upgrading to newer OS X or macOS December 15, 2016 My new 2012 i7 quad-core Mac mini (purchased on clearance from Apple in June 2016) shipped with just 4GB RAM. That was adequate for OS X Lion and Mountain Lion in 2012, but OS X Yosemite, OS X El Capitan, and macOS all perform far better with 8GB RAM or more. Some people might hesitate to put a 'used' product in a brand new system, but I believe that used or 'system-pull' memory is absolute assurance that the product was well-tested. OWC guarantees all 'system-pull' memory for at least 90-days (of course, always read the product details for Garage Sale items), so there is no risk of getting a bad module. Several years ago, I did receive one defective RAM module, and OWC paid for return shipping and promptly sent a replacement!

I would recommend this item to a friend! Customer Videos:
