Rating: 4/5 Worked OK March 8, 2016 The bridge worked ok but not as well as hoped. Moving around the corner of the room to another receptacle changed the speed almost 20%. Changing the bridge from one plug to the other (same receptacle) also made a difference. It did increase the speed enough to stream from my TV which was what I wanted. It possibly could be the wiring in my house which is referred to in the literature.

Rating: 5/5 Didn't expect this to work... January 1, 2016 But, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to install a wifi router in my detached [but with electricity] screened gazebo! I had hoped that the gazebo was on the same circuit as where I placed the host box. Honestly, I'm not really sure that it is. Given that the connection was made, I suppose it is on the same circuit. Long story short, I now have the internet in my gazebo, which is 100 ft from the main house. The only thing connecting it to the house is an underground power line.

The internet speed seems just as fast as it is in the main house, though I didn't actually do a speed test. I was able to connect a wifi router to the receiver box and it works perfectly. I can now stream music and video while I'm in the screened gazebo!

Next, I'll see if I can connect my detached garage/barn, which is a good 200 ft away. So far, I'm extremely pleased!

Rating: 5/5 Super Simple! September 24, 2015 Do I have your attention? Plug them in. Got that. You are done. They work. Ha!

Plugged them in about a month ago for a printer I wanted at the other end of the house. Hasn't failed me yet. I can't comment on the networks speed because it's just issuing print jobs.

Rating: 5/5 Simple Solution June 22, 2015 Provides an easy solution to the problem of not having a network cable where you need it. I used this to install an AT&T Microcell next to our kitchen window so it would be central in the home and have the required window adjacency to pick up the GPS. The microcell goes down periodically but this device does not.

Rating: 5/5 pleasant surprise April 16, 2015 I have DSL broadband and these devices seem to extend it seamlessly through my AC outlets. Apparently this is the same technology. They do not seem to interfere at all with Insteon, my ISY994 HA controller, and X-10 transmissions at all. Great sale price.

Rating: 5/5 Works great for me. March 26, 2015 I bought two since I have two concrete block apartments in two different cities with DSL connection to the ISP. Neither apartment has good end to end Wi-Fi reception. I tried another wi-ifi router to the other end and I have the best of both worlds with Wi-Fi for my iPads and Ethernet for my computers. The connection speed tested at either end of both apartments is close enough to not make a difference.

Rating: 5/5 Logically sufficient March 21, 2015 I had previously tried using a wireless bridge to extend my network to other electronic devices in my house. The bridge worked, but as my network needs increased the WiFi became less reliable, and with increased streaming needs the buffering and re-buffering became more than an annoyance. I had to find another way to improve my network and I did not want to rip open my walls and install ethernet cable. For years I had resisted the urge to try ethernet over my AC lines because the bandwidth was restricted to 200 Mbs, and because of my own concerns about degraded signal or because of security or because of … Well, I am happy to report that all of my concerns have been addressed by the Logitech Powerline 200 Bridge. Logitech has addressed all of my concerns and has created a solid performing solution that is superior to weak and unreliable Wi-Fi connections. What's more, is this product has helped to load balance my network as I have added another Wi-Fi Bridge through it's "wired" connection. True the new Wi-Fi bridge, which is capable of Gigabit WLAN is barely receiving a fraction of the broadband it is capable of, but due to the fact that it has a steady throughput of 200 Mbs and my Wi-Fi devices are only capable of 54 Mbs I prefer the performance that I am getting now as it gets a solid and steady 200 Mbs from my Logitech AC Ethernet; versus a 54 Mbs wireless signal from my previous setup. It was VERY easy to install and I was enjoying my new network solution in about 5 minutes. I highly recommend this product and highly endorse my favorite electronics vendor OWC. OWC is the most trusted resource for finding all of my computing solutions.

Rating: 2/5 Throughput not as much as expected March 18, 2015 I purchased two of the starter kits to get internet access to devices at the fringe of my wireless network. With the devices plugged into outlets less than six feet from one another, the best throughput I could achieve is 60 Mb/s as part of a test. I used iPerf3 between two iMacs with gigabit Ethernet ports. This was in a room with four-year old electrical wiring. As the distance between the devices increases, a corresponding drop in throughput occurs. Between upstairs and downstairs of my residence, utilizing the devices at the fringes of my wireless network, the throughput drops to 8 Mb/s. This is essentially the equivalent ot 802.11/b speeds. Doable for web browsing and email tasks but cannot reliably support video transmission in my household between a networked DVR and a television provided with just a wired Ethernet port.

For me, these are last resort devices to get network connectivity.

Response from OWC, Technical Support March 24, 2015 In most homes you get 2 copies of 117 VAC. (on average between 110-120) The two copies are out of phase by 180 degrees. If you connect between them you get on average 240 volts. There are 3 wires that are provided by the power company. The neutral and ground wires are bonded together at your power panel. The Logitech HD Powerline 200a starter kit work best when they are used with the same copy of the 117 VAC that your internet is applied to. Depending on each home and the electrical system in the home will result in the link speeds you are able to see. In order to receive the greatest amount of link speed you will want to make sure that you put both halves (same 117 VAC as your internet) of the transmitter/receiver set on the same half of the electrical panel. You will get the fastest link speed and the longest distances. If you connect them to opposite sides, they may still link up but speeds will be much slower. This being said, each homes electrical is different and can not guarantee that you will see the full potential link speeds. The speeds advertised are in the best case scenario where the internet and the outlets being used with both the transmitter/receiver set are directly attached to the same 117 VAC copy with no breaks in this connection (meaning other power outlets). In most home applications, there are many breaks in the connection resulting in slower link speeds.
