Gain additional USB ports with IOGEAR's 5-port USB 2.0 PCI Card (GIC251U). USB 2.0 moves data at a blazing fast rate of 480 Mbps (megabits per second), and is fully backwards compatible with all first generation USB devices. With the increase in speed, USB 2.0 offers enhanced functionality, allowing more devices to share the increased bandwidth. The USB 2.0 PCI card will allow you to take full advantage of the USB 2.0 technology on USB 1.1 systems.

Forget the Hub

With a hub, every peripheral you plug in has to share a single port's bandwidth (potentially affecting the devices' performance), and you may have to plug it into a power outlet as well as your computer in order to operate some devices. Additionally, each of the 5-Port USB 2.0's five powered ports supports bus-powered peripherals (devices that work without a separate power supply, including some small external drives and scanners) and hi-speed data transmission.
