Version 2.2b17 of XPostFacto is out. But I am going to wait a day or two before updating the main page and the VersionTracker entry --that will give a few of you folks a chance to try it and see if it introduces any new problems. My plan is to fix whatever problems I can easily fix, and then declare version 2.2 done before the 24th. One known problem with 2.2b17 is that the XPostFacto application seems to have lost its icon! I'm not sure why that happened--I will try to figure it out. But it works fine. Here's the URL for download: http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/Archive/XPostFacto2.2b17.img.sit And here's the list of changes: -- Fixes the "file not found" error when trying to install Mac OS X 10.0 (the error was introduced in version 2.2b15). -- Fixes the "squished cursor" problem when using Jaguar with onboard video. -- Extensions built with the Jaguar development tools and headers. I don't expect this to cause any problems (I have tested with Mac OS X 10.0 and 10.1), but let me know if it does. -- Minor updates to BootX to synchronize with Apple's changes. (But not their new startup screen yet). -- Uses slightly less NVRAM when setting up the install. -- Is now able to install the current version of the extensions while running in Mac OS X. This takes the place of the "package" file which was formerly included. So, let me know how this version goes. |

Ryan, Well all seems well with beta 17 so far. It booted super fast the first time but didn't load network ex. it seems. All choices were greyed out in Network panel but a reboot fixed this and boot time was it's usual OSX time apox 3 min. I'm still using the beta 15 support extensions. For what ever reason XPF beta 15 works great on my UMax machine with Jaguar and beta 16 didn't.I have a question about you saying support extensions can now be loaded in OSX. Where are they and how do we do this? Also how are people going to install and boot OSx without first have the support extensions ? A number of web sites have complained about the lose of the Happy Mac in Jaguar's startup . Maybe you can sell your startup of the Happy Mac ;-) |

I really have to stop trying to release software so late at night. I don't know how I messed up that last post, but it sure doesn't look right to me. Here's the URL. Really :-) http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/Archive/XPostFacto2.2b17.img.sit |
