I am getting the following panic error when attempting to install of of an OSX 10.0 cd with XPF 2.2b17: panic (cpu0): Unable to find driver for this platform: "AAPL, 8500". backtrace: 0x0008c2f4 0x0002a7a0 0x001f2204 0x001d4e4c 0x001d4c5c 0x001d56cc 0x001d5d6c 0x001c621c 0x00037430 0x00037364 I tried reinstalling extensions and BootX, but then I get a broken folder on startup. I have tried it with my old 604 processor and with my XLR8 G3 300/200 card with out any difference. I have removed all PCI cards except an Initio U2W card which is running the Seagate Baracuda 9GB LVD SCSI drive. Does anyone know the driver the installer is referring to? Also, why would i get the broken folder icon? Does that mean it can't read the startup CD or the drive? Thanks. |

The broken folder can mean that, but in your case it means that the driver for your platform (i.e. for your computer) has not loaded. There are a couple of reasons this might happen--one of which was fixed in version 2.2 of XPostFacto. If you could give that a try, let me know if it fixes the problem. |
