Stats: PMac 9500, G3/400 XLR8 ZIF Carrier, 352MB RAM. I successfully installed 10.2 on my 36GB IBM SCSI drive and XPostFacto 2.2.2. I had partitioned it using Drive Setup in OS 9.1 and the 10.2 install went without a hitch. It rebooted and I got the circle with a slash through it. So I tried again, formatting the drive using the 10.2 installer this time. Again, the install went without a hitch, but upon rebooting I get the circle-slash again. I tried holding down command-V on a cold boot but all I got, once again, was the circle-slash. Could anyone provide me with suggestions? Thanks! Matthew McCleary, hayduke@nmt.edu |

Try using XPostFacto to reboot into your Mac OS X installation, and check the "Reinstall BootX" option in the "Advanced" menu. XPostFacto installs a custom version of BootX, but the Mac OS X Installer replaces it with the regular version. It is possible that the XPostFacto version will work better for you. |
