I was experiencing some random problems with 10.2, so I decided to reinstall extensions from XPF 225b7. But when I try to reinstall from Os9 it tells me: "Could not complete the 'Install extensions' command because of a problem connecting with the printer". The printer (Epson 1520) works perfectly under 9 and I have no problem connecting at all ... The worst thing is that I can't boot into X anymore ... I get that error while in gray apple screen: /etc/master.password: no such file or directory sh_2.05 a # what'st the matter with him? thanks for any help Maurizio |

Hmm. I'm not sure why that is happening. As a workaround, you might try the "Reinstall Extensions" option in the "Advanced" menu instead--it will also reinstall the extensions, when you press the "Restart" button. As for booting into X, it sounds like you might be ending up in single-user mode. Check and make sure that the "single user mode" option is not checked in the "Advanced" menu of XPostFacto. If you do end up at that prompt again, try typing "exit"--that should allow the boot process to continue. |
