I think the same ATI chip is used in both cards and that it can handle all sorts of memory configurations. The Mac firmware just needs to be changed so that it initializes the Radeon's registers with the same values that the PC BIOS uses which would enable it to handle the different hardware on the card. |

Nope.. Won't work. The DDR and SDRAM timings are different, therefore, the BIOS on the card is also different. Flashing a DDR bios into the SDRAM card WILL KILL IT. The bios would overclock the SDRAM (as it thinks its running DDR at the proper speed) and eventually burn the chips out. And I doubt it would even boot anyways, DDR and SDRAM have different Radeon chips underneath the heatsinks due to the different memory arch. I would suggest that you get a 32mb DDR PCI Card for something like $70 Canadian (dunno what your currency is). They are very cheap and work just fine on the Mac side once flashed. |

Dude, nice typing. I flashed the 7000 32M ddr card with svideo out and DVI and it works AOK. I used the instructions fron the german website, and a version of the ROM with slower clock settings (144/144?) Faster settings produced video artifacting. Marty PS I don't think the SDRAM version will work. |

I did that, after I installed the MAC bios, I run the firmware. I used the instructions for the DDR PC version. Do yu know if ther is a special bios for th sdram version? |

The Mac flasher will not flash a card that has a PC BIOS on it. If you successfully flash it with a hacked flasher or a PC flasher, the card might not show any video because the hardware is different. In that case, it would require a modified firmware that will initialize the card correctly. |
