Hi, Just to let you all know. OSX 10.2 offers a install option that is supposed to archive the old system files and leave your user data in place. Don't use it! It ends with the install rebooting to a kernel panic (a prettier one then before). The clean install does work. More later... Marty PS Xpostfacto 2.2b16 |

I suppose that part of the problem will be that among the "archived" files will be the kernel extensions that XPostFacto installed. It might work in this case to reboot into Mac OS 9, run XPostFacto, and use the 'Reinstall Extensions' option when restarting from your target volume. (Actually, XPostFacto should notice that the extensions are gone and reinstall them itself, for that matter). |
