I just upgraded from 10.1 to Jag. The install finished but the computer failed to reboot. I tried starting in 9.1 and used XPF 2.17 but I just get to the OS X boot screen and no further. It doesn't panic. It just spins forever. Any ideas on getting this thing to boot? 7500 Powerlogic g3 300 pci card IBM DNES-318350 256 megs ram ATI Rage orion |

Thanks for the info. It may be that the original problem was hidden because I tried to move that drive to the internal SCSI to get the card out of the picture. I put the drive back on the Atto card and reinstalled Jag. It works now. |

The messages indicate termination problems. Your DNES is probably an 18GB LVD drive. Ensure if your SCSI card supports LVD; otherwise, put a jumper to enable single-ended mode. If you're going from SCA/wide to narrow, make sure the cable adapter you're using has proper termination (i.e. high byte is terminated in all cases). Also make sure you've disabled unit attention. I have tried some IBM LVD drives and the unit attention cannot be turned off reliably--FWB Harddisk Toolkit was used to check mode page 0. |

Try holding down command-v at boot time, to boot in verbose mode. This may give some indication re: what is going on. |
