Hi, I have read through all of the threads (whew) and am still not sure what ram i should be using in a 7500 with powerlogix G3/400. My major anxieties are edo vs. non-edo and 2K vs 4K refresh. Any chance that the following table or something like it could be filled in and posted as a summary of what works? machine|processor|mbram/slot|edo/nonedo|2K/4K refresh|others? maybe there are other important variables but these are the ones i came up with. even if it isn't feasible to put up some sort of table, can anyone help me with my first question? there are some 128M edo 4K refresh sticks out there, but the last thing i need to do is throw money away on memory that won't work in the system that i am trying to get up and running. second memory-related question. i saw the chipmunk site reference but none of my current memory seems to have the markings/numbers described there. so, i may have memory that will work but i can't tell by looking at it. if i am going to try swapping memory in and out to find goodies and baddies, is there a minimum amount of memory that i need to try to install and run OSX with xpostfacto? I have one 128 mb and four 32 mb sticks. Thanks. Bob |

Unfortunately, I don't understand the issues well enough to construct a useful FAQ. But if someone can put one together, it would certainly be useful. In general, it would be nice if there was a way of collecting some of the most useful information posted here in a more permanent format. Unfortunately, I'm barely keeping up as it is (and have fallen dreadfully behind on e-mail lately). |
