L2CacheConfig problem |

I successfully installed 10.2 on my 9600/500 G3 but am not able to do the L2 CacheConfig. I've got 9.2.2 on my primary 18GB int SCSI HD and 10.2 on a 2GB int SCSI and an 80GB ext FW. I know I need to do the workaround because of 9.2 but run into problems following the directions (Right-brained). Not sure if my problems stem from my unfamiliarity with going from 9HD to XHD to Classic, where to download to and how to access from the others, where to manually create the L2CacheConfig file (I did find the L2CR register value in my G3/G4 Cache Profiler for my installed PowerLogix G3/500). I would greatly appreciate anyone able to clarify what I need to do. BTW, I've seen some messages regarding turning off and/or removing the motherboard cache. Is that something I should or should not do. Thanks for any advice. |

L2CacheConfig doesn't work with the Sonnet G4/800 yet. But it will support the G4/800 in the next version. |

Easy question for a Sonnet G4/800 user, should I remove the Sonnet kext extension if I use the L2Cache config or will the machine care? Joe |

I should also mention that I'm working on a new version of L2CacheConfig that will not require the extra configuration step. I hoping to have it out pretty soon, but we'll see how that goes :-) |

Powerlogix cache control made my system unreliable, even though I am running a PL G4/450. I gad to use Ryan's L2Cacheconfig to get it running reliably again... You are warned. Marty |

By the way if you start crashing alot it is because of the Cache enabler. One is not more prone than the other it depends on your card. |

Have you tried getting the powerlogix L2 cache enabler? I use it and it works fine. You download the app and then type in a few lines of unix commands from the Terminal with very easy to follow directions. From then on, you have a control panel which will allow you to adjust your L2 cache. Good luck, |
