Hello all, Here is a strange simptom I have for some time now and I was not able to understand it. Well there are times where the system during shut down (when the busy circle starts to cycle at the quited finder) the system displays the well known restrt gray screen. I then will have to boot in single user mode and fsck my disk in order to be health again. As I do not know when exacly is the shut down that it will display me this screen I whould like to ask if someone know what the system does during this period, why the disk needs repair, and if I can fix the problem of course. |

One thing you could try is use the "Show Panic Text" option in the "Debug" menu of XPostFacto. That should give you some text when you panic, instead of the grey screen, which may make things easier to figure out. |

Oh well I have 10.2.3 with an Acard at slot 1, RATOC USB/Firewire at 2, Oranglink USB/Firewire at 3, RADEON at 4, ATTO SCSI at 5, Apple ethernet card at 6. The machine is a 9600 with an XLR8 Carrier zif with an apple zif G3 400. I just also noted that this message is also displayed when I have extreme network connections. So I would like if this could be because on network errors. Can I deactivate Bild in ethernet?? Is it deactivated if I deselect it in the Network contol panel??? |
