There seems to be problems getting the dialog box to pop up when using 9.2.2 under any system not only my 9600... Has anyone else noticed the problem. |

I've seen the problem with XPostFacto under 9.2.2 now--it seems to affect some users but not others, and sometimes just trying again fixes things. The good news is that it looks like XPostFacto 3 will solve the problem, probably because I'm switching back to a non-Carbon application. |

Installing the firewire support patch with OS9 Helper fixes this problem. As for Paul, I stopped writing back to you only because I realized that your stubborness would not be overcome by any sort of rational argument and I frankly didn't have any more time to write page-long emails back and forth with you. I still rest my case that thousands of my users see benefit from OS 9.2.x. -Ben www.os9forever.com |

Marty has this right. 9.1 works without problems, and has enough support for all but the wierdest of needs. I talked to the writer of the 9.2.1&9.2.2 patches at length, and he stopped talking when he realized that his problems with Appleshare and other things become moot when he found that Appleshare is now defunct software altogether. The whole idea of 9.2.2 on a legacy system is something that falls into a column I call "non-essential but interesting". Who cares? I don't. XPF is also interesting, and on a fast-enough legacy system, maybe even useful (if it ever becomes moreor-less stable, which it isn't). But 9.2.2 will never get to the point of useful. It's merely an oddity. But goodluck to the folks that want to play with it. -Paul |

Quit XPF, delete the XPF preference file, restart XPF and everything should be fine. Don't forget to reselect any XPF menus you had previously. |

I never had a problem with XPostfacto under 9.2.2 installed with OS9Helper. |

Why bother with 9.2.2? It's unsupported on 9600 hardware, and 9.1 works fine in classic as well. Marty |

You know, I've never tested XPostFacto under 9.2.2. I suppose I should really install 9.2.2 and see if I can reproduce the problem. After MacWorld, I guess ... |

Same here on my 8600, sometimes it works without quitting everything and sometimes it does not. Then I usually have to restart and try again. |

Yes, Try to exit all background processes and also quit the finder. This is solving the problem for me. |
