Has anyone had any luck installing OS X on PowerCurve? I am currently getting kernel panic shortly after the Grey Apple splash screen. Any comment is much appreciated. My hardware -- PowerCurve XLR8 G3-300 512MB RAM ACARD66 IBM 10GB IDE HD (where OS X is being installed to) IxMicro Ultimate Rez Apple 4x (yes I know it's slow... :) SCSI CD-ROM |

Thanks for the note. I'll try to capture the OOPs dump; (there were three successive OOPs such that some of the information scrolled off the screen, but I'll post another follow up with what information is visible.) |

Some of the kernel panic text could be helpful. In particular, the list of kernel extensions involved in the backtrace is usually a good clue as to the general area of the problem. And the backtrace itself can be helpful. |

osx 10.1.5 works fine with my power center (powercurve board) however I found both the internal video and and ixmicro external video card didnt boot cleanly (vertical bars) or at all (int.) I the put an ati mach 64 card in and it boots with a clear apple picture and i leave verbose mode on when the screen goes black before blue.have a g3-300 with and xlr8 carrier card |

Thanks for the note. I was using Xpostfacto 2.2.5, OSX 10.2, Apple's Drive Setup, IBM DeskStar 16GXP (DTTA-351010) The drive is partitioned into 6,2,2 with 6 GB partition intended for OS X. The CD- ROM is the last device on the SCSI chain (yes, it's terminated.) |
