Greetings to all. I just purchased a expensive MJ-5.16si Nakamichi CDRom 5 Disk Changer. General SCSI-2 Interface; 16x. I have put the unit in my Macintosh. Mac OS 9 will boot from the unit just fine- and it works in "Single Disk" mode under OS 9 and Intech's Speedtools. Meaning only the first disk mounts. In OS X, I get the following from Verbose mode. Timeout: T/L = 3:2 CMD 01737200 CMD Type=1 Timeout: T/L = 3:1 CMD ######## CMD Type=1 Where ### is some other number. This occurs just after some information about a Descriptor and a size. The drive continues to click anually about once every 45 seconds. And the HD loads something when I insert a disk into the first slot, but, nothing comes up in the desktop nor in the Console.. Anyone know how I might go about getting this drive to work? |

I actually found the problem.. For whatever reason, when I jumpered the Sync Mode (don't ask me what sync mode it switched to), everything started to work just fine.. Audio still doesn't work in OS X through the SCSI though.. |

Hmmm, Your already in verbose mode, which is my only thought for slowing down the boot. Make sure your termination is righteous... Marty |

I will also note that it seems that the messages come BEFORE the drive whirls after each message. Possibly the drive is not fast enough? Is there any way to slow down the boot process a bit? |
