Can patched extensions be left in in a B&W ? |

I have been using Xpostfacto with success on my sonnet upgraded 8500. I recently moved the hardisk with the OS10.2.3 to a new upgraded B&W. To my pleasant surprize OS10.2.3 fired up right away. My quesiton to the "OSXGuru" or other aspiring "Guru's is do the patched drivers cause any problems?. Can I leave them or should I remove them from the extensions folder?. If so what should I remove. I did reomove L2Cache config application and the associated Plist. Since I am using Powerlogix 550 G4 upgrade I am using their cache enabler. Thanks in advance |

Thanks for the prompt response. But for this forum I would never have gotten OSX working in my 8500. You are performing a great service for the certified Mac users like me. I have almost one of every Mac generation. A IICI, quadra 605, Q950, PM7500, PM8500, B&W and a QS. My orignial 512 Mac gave up the ghost and I sold the PM7100. It is credit the the platform and to support like yours and Mike ( at XLR8yourmac) that I can keep every one of them working. |

You can leave the patched extensions in place--they won't do any harm. They may slow down the boot process slightly--I haven't tested to see how much--probably not a lot. |
