Success!!!! I removed a 128 MB 4k refresh memory stick from OWC that I had installed recently and it installed and booted up. I've read in some posts that the 9500 and 9600 can take only 64MB (max) memory sticks which are 2k refresh. Can someone confirm or refute this... Thanks. Thanks for all the hard work on XPF Ryan. You have saved many an old world mac from the dumpster... |

Figured out what my earlier problem was by problem. I had attached an old applel full page display to onboard video. The 10.1.3 installer could not figure out the screen resolution or something. I installed one of those VGA to apple video dongles and set the correct resolution on it using the dip switches. Now it starts the installer :) However, the installer stops at around 50% saying that there were errors.. The specfic error message is "could not set file attributes." I reformatted the drive using apple hard disk utliity and also tried to install on another internal scsi HD - same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.... |

The video card is I believe an ATi NexusGA. Here are links to screen captures of the devices and system profile from Apple System Profiler under OS9. http://public:public@idisk.mac.com/chandi/Public/devices.gif http://public:public@idisk.mac.com/chandi/Public/sysprofile.gif I have not been successful at installing any version of OSX using XPF version 1.x or 2.x. I did install Darwin 1.3.1 sometime back. Darwin 1.4.1 breaks on install as well. Memory is non-interleaved. I've tried various combinations of memory sticks but same results. The HD has the termination jumper on. PCI Slot $C1 contains a 10/100 NIC that works fine with OSX in a Beige G3 that I have. |

Which video card are you using? Also, are you trying XPostFacto for the first time? Had any of the previous 2.2 beta versions worked for you? |
