Hey all, I'm new to the forums but not new to XPostFacto... I have been running OS X on my 7300 for a few months now and I'm very pleased toosee this machine running Apples latest OS. But lately I upgraded the Video card to a radeon 7000, and I have the standard "problems" where it doesn;t light the monitor until late in the boot process. But the one thing I have that is completely annoying as a side effect, is I have the rainbow wait animation cursor up near the apple menu. It is not attached to the mouse cursor so I have full use, but I havfe this distracting little rainbow spinny thing... completely annoying... I also upgraded to the latest version of XPostFacto last night. But I have already tested if it was the updates fault and I reinstalled my older version, and no difference. Any Hints or should I pack this card up and ship it back? Thanks in advance for your information. |

I can confirm that this is the exact same response that I get on my mac 8600 with 10.1.5. Delay on sync until just before the desktop appears. no issues for me, I just set my startup apps beforehand. I hit the power button, walk around, go to the kitchen, etc. Then it comes up, and I'm ready to work. I'm curious about this fix mentioned above, I'll try it tonight. |

All of your problems can be solved by turning on the following options in XPostFacto: Set your input device to "keybd" Set the output device to "ATI, PY100..-A" if you're using the VGA port or "ATI... -B" if you're using digital output The spinning beach ball will be gone and the Radeon card will come up in VGA mode at boot time (just like it does under OS 9), then switch to your desired resolution sometime during the extension loading process (again, just like in OS 9).
