What is the difference between File/Install Extensions and Advanced/Reinstall Extensions in XPostFacto 2.2? Is it still necessary to let XPostFacto reinstall extensions after a clean install now that there isn't a kernel panic upon 1st reboot anymore? Does the Apple installer still delete or move XPF extensions the old world Macs need? |

The two commands accomplish exactly the same thing. But File/Install Extensions does it right away, whereas Advanced/Reinstall Extensions waits until you hit the 'Restart' button. (And File/Install Extensions works when running in Mac OS X, whereas the other does not). This could be simplified a little, and I will be substantially improving the UI for version 3. You should not need to make XPostFacto reinstall extensions after a clean install anymore. I figured out how to avoid having the Installer move the extensions XPF pre-installs, which is why you don't get the kernel panic after a clean install anymore. |
