Broken system folder during installation - HELP! |

Hi. I've been having a problem installing MacOS 10.1.3 on my PM 8600, with Newertech G4 card. To cut a long story short, I've been trying for months to install MacOS X on it, to no avail. I always seem to end up with a broken system folder during installation. I've read the notes on said subject, but don't know what else to try. I've pulled out all the PCI cards, and am essentially trying to install it on a bare-bones PM 8600 with G4 card; it has 1GB of RAM. It has a Seagate Barracuda 18GB HD, partitioned in to 2 x 9 GB volumes. At first I had problems partitioning the HD with Drive setup (apparently other people have found this with this particular drive) but finally managed to do it using an older version of the application (2.7). I did try it with 2 other HDs - same problem. I've been installing on the first partition, as recommended. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance. |

Try booting in verbose mode (with command-v held down). You should get an error message of some kind, instead of the broken system folder. This may help indicate what the problem is. |
