Hi, I am currently using OSX 10.1.3 on my 9500MP. I run the CPU Monitor and only one CPU is shown working. I remember that in the XpostFacto FAQ states currently only one CPU will work currently. Is there anyway to get the second CPU to work under OSX? It's collecting dust in my machine except under BeOS. |

That's right--10.2 will not work with a stock 8600/300 604e. I am pretty sure that it is going to possible to fix this, but it will require a custom kernel, rather than just kernel extensions. And I will have to figure out what changed to break 604e support. It isn't something really obvious--that is, it isn't arbitrary--it's something they did to speed up the G3 and G4 that is incompatible with the 604e. |

"some work will be required to get 604 support back into the 10.2 kernel at all :-(" Am I to understand then that 10.2 will not run on my stock 8600/300? I have been using 10.1.5 with out problems on the stock 604e. William Ove |

I would be glad to have it working on 10.1 :-) |

I don't own 10.2 yet so I don't know. If you are lucky maybe SMP will work under 10.2 on its own........ |

It's something that I am working on from time to time, but haven't gotten very far lately. And, now, some work will be required to get 604 support back into the 10.2 kernel at all :-( |
