I am having problems when I want to boot back into OS 9. My system is as follows: PM7500 w/4x CD, 6GB scsi drive (emergency drive) Powerlogix G3 400/200/512 (slight overclock) 480 MB RAM Tempo ATA 100 card (3 partitions- OS X-OS9-Classic) ATI Radeon 7000 (using VGA out to Apple MS15") Evergreen FW/USB combo card 80GB FW drive FW CDRW drive If I boot back into OS 9 from OS X I have to move the monitor cable back to the onboard video. I have tried reinstalling the ATI software, Cuda resets, PRAM resets etc. When I boot into OS X it works right every time. I use the Startup Disk panel in X when going to 9 and use Xpostfacto when going from 9 to X. Any one have a clue? a preferences problem perhaps? When I try to boot into 9 using the ATI card I get nothing. I have had dual monitors hooked up in varying configs and that seems to work OK. But I only have room for 1 monitor. Thanks for any ideas. |

The recommended way to boot into OS 9 from OSX either from a restart or shutdown from OSX is to hold down the option key while starting up. Works everytime for me. Leave the startup Disk in OSX set on OSX. Your machine's open firmware gets confused otherwise. I hoep this fixes your problem. Will S |
