  • The Accelsior E2 is not compatible with Boot Camp.  To use Windows on a Mac with the Mercury Accelsior E2, you must first boot to a Windows installer and install the OS directly onto the Mercury Accelsior E2. Additionally you cannot have more than one Accelsior E2 installed in the Mac Pro at the same time if you intend to boot from a Windows volume installed on the E2.
  • Windows booting is only supported in PCIe Slot #3 on a 2008 Mac Pro (MacPro3,1). The slot number is shown on the logic board.
  • 2006-2008 Mac Pro (MacPro1,1 MacPro2,1 and MacPro3,1). Due to an Apple limitation, any volume located on a Mercury Accelsior E2 SSD will not appear in the "option boot" menu. A volume installed on an Accelsior E2 must be set as the Mac Pro's boot volume through the "Startup Disk" panel in System Preferences.
  • It is possible to create two partitions on a Mercury Accelsior E2 and install OS X on one partition, and Linux on the second partition, and subsequently boot from either partition. However, the Linux partition is not recognized by the OS X Startup Disk preference, nor does it appear in the Option-boot screen. A third party EFI boot manager must be used to access and boot from the Linux volume. OWC is not able to offer support this type of configuration.
