OWC and Newertech recommend that you connect your Universal Drive Adapter (UDA) directly to the computer to reduce the likelihood you will encounter any problems.
Since the power output on USB Hubs can vary by significant amounts, connecting the UDA to a powered hub is not the most reliable method of operation. USB ports on PCIe cards and native USB ports on your Mac or PC will generally provide more and better regulated power for the Universal Drive Adapter.
