eSATA Hub Thunderbolt Series

Give Your eSATA Storage a Thunderbolt Upgrade
Bring new life and possibilities to your eSATA drives with the power of Thunderbolt technology. The LaCie eSATA Hub Thunderbolt Series lets you conveniently connect two eSATA drives to any Thunderbolt-enabled Mac. With the eSATA Hub, you can put those valuable drives back to use by connecting to the fastest port on your Mac - the Thunderbolt port.
Unleash the Potential of eSATA
Each eSATA port has full 3Gb/s capability providing you with massive bandwidth faster than any internal hard drive. Software RAID compatibility allows you to combine a minimum of two drives for awe-inspiring efficiency or data security with redundancy.
Solid Build, Solid Performance
The LaCie eSATA Hub’s unique ridged aluminum case doesn’t just look cool - it also keeps cool. Its heat sink design maximizes surface area for more heat dissipation. The eSATA Hub will also stay put with a heavy base keeping it upright when it's plugged into multiple cables. You can also remove the base for stable flat positioning.
Bring New Value to Existing Storage
Now those external eSATA capable drives you have can be utilized with Thunderbolt instead of relying on FireWire or USB. Your data that used to be clipping along is about to be shot out of a cannon. No new externals are required; use the ones you have and change the interface to reach dazzling data performance.
Daisy Chain for More Convenience, Less Clutter
The LaCie Thunderbolt Hub offers Thunderbolt daisy chaining so you can conveniently connect a display or an additional Thunderbolt device to the eSATA Hub. You can even daisy chain the hub to connect up to 12 eSATA drives (six hubs with two eSATA drives per hub) to a Mac.

Rating: 4/5 Works as advertised August 27, 2014 Running non-stop all summer, three months on it does exactly as it is supposed to. Running two esata drives of high capacity without problems at maximum disk interface speeds.

I would recommend this item to a friend!

Reviewer: Anonymous Location: Sydney Australia Experience Level: Power User Owned Product: 5-6 months
Rating: 4/5 Works well June 23, 2013 I am using this hub with two OWC Elite Pro Dual Mini enclosures, and daisy-chaining a monitor via its DisplayPort input. (See my review of the Elite Pro Dual Mini for more info.) Other than some uncertainty when initially getting things connected up, once running the hub performs flawlessly. I always shut down and reboot when connecting to and disconnecting from the hub, I'm not sure if hot-plugging works or not.

At first blush the hub seems expensive, but when you look at other Thunderbolt solutions (e.g. the Seagate adapters that will only connect a single drive) and the fact that this one daisy-chains additional Thunderbolt devices, this one seems quite reasonable. You can even plug in an Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter to the hub to add a chain of Firewire drives (with correspondingly lower access speeds).

I would recommend this item to a friend!
