Rating: 3/5 Not what was necessary May 10, 2021 The cutting tool was great. I had no need for the suction cups. What would have been helpful is to have multiple cards that would not stick to the adhesive so that I could insert them to keep the LCD from pressing back down on the aluminum frame. To be open/honest, I was attempting to install a OWC 3G 480GB drive into the iMac Late 2012 27" system, but it turned out that the drive was bad, which I didn't know at the time. I took it to a local Apple certified repair place and they told me the drive was bad and they also mentioned that your adhesive strips are too difficult to open back up, she stated they were like cement. You may want to reformulate your adhesives and I don't know why your 3G drive died so soon. I had thought that SSDs by their nature were more long-lasting than hard drives.

I don't say all this to put you all down. My sincere hope is that you see the comments above and improve your kits and drives. I have used OWC in the past with great success and I hope you as a business thrive.

All of the necessary items for installation were included. It required some work to install it, but working slowly and patiently, I got it done in a reasonable amount of time. I switched out a 1 TB HD in my 2011 iMac to a 4TB HD. Everything has been working well since I made this change a couple of months ago.

September 7, 2020 I am very impressed that this kit had all the tools I needed to replace the failed hard drive in my 2010 iMac with a new one. The video showing the entire process was also very helpful and gave me the confidence to do this repair on my own, which I'm not used to doing on an all-in-one computer. The new hard drive temperature sensor doesn't seem to work on my system, though. However I have been having trouble with other sensors so I think that is a problem unique to my system. Great kit if you already have the drive to install.

Rating: 5/5 Best way to upgrade storage on old iMacs July 14, 2020 I've done several upgrades with this kit. For some iMacs I installed a newer rotational drive, and for many I've upgraded to an SSD.

Every time it's smooth as silk, and when I'm done, the fans don't go crazy and the Mac passes diagnostics as if nothing has changed.

Apple doesn't make it easy to upgrade storage in iMacs, but OWC makes it easier!
