The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface also works via USB 2.0 connections for maximum compatibility and Envoy requires no AC power adapter making it the ideal Plug and Play USB bus-powered solution.

The OWC Envoy enclosure is specifically designed for use ONLY with the factory SSD installed in select Apple Macintosh computers. Do NOT attempt to install or use OWC Aura or Aura Pro X SSDs in the Envoy as you may damage the OWC drive, the enclosure, or both, and such damage is not covered under warranty.

MacBook Air didn't power up but I simply pulled the SSD memory stick, plugged it into the Envoy and saved all my info. Worked like I had hoped and I even fixed up the Air with some drying time and a new keyboard. It will save your bacon and all your files too!

Rating: 5/5 Saved my client $$$$ April 13, 2013 I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so about the Envoy. I've known for a while that OWC has great products, from my experience with the Oxford 911 firewire chipsets in their enclosures in the pro. audio/video market.

Long story short, my client spilled coffee on their MacBook Air. The local Mac repair center told me it was "impossible" to remove the SSD from a MacBook Air. The local data recovery shop wanted $3000 to recover the data. So I called OWC tech support, who advised me to purchase the Envoy. It worked great; I was able to recover all the data on the SSD using the Mac "Migration Assistant". Worked like a charm and only cost the client less than $50! They couldn't be happier, so I couldn't be happier with this product. I only wish OWC sold a kit with this, an anti-static mat, and a Pentalobe driver. Thank you, OWC, for making me a hero with the OWC Envoy!

A very light and portable package complete with travel bag and small USB3 cable. Much more convenient than an adapted 2.5 disc enclosure.

The service was fantastic. Ordered the product here in Singapore my Friday morning. It shipped almost immediately and was here, half way around the world, by Monday morning.
