Amazing ...
June 18, 2018
I could not disconnect the 4 items, except the heat sensor as needed, as the MAC TV guys make it look so easy, but it is due to their extreme competence and experience.
I gave up disconnecting all the items and just left those 4 items connected instead, as I took out my old HD from my iMAC 11,2 and installed the SHDD.
Feels like a new computer, but it is a shame now that Apple will not be including my model for the macOS Mojave update! Regardless, the kits, tools, videos etc are indeed all gems from OWC!!!

As Always OWC does it right!
January 23, 2018
This kit had it all- from the tools, to the drive, to the mini suction cups! Coupled with the online video tutorial, the process of replacing/upgrading my hard drive was a snap. From start to finish it took about 40 mins (definitely under an hour). The hard drive not only doubled my storage space, but seems to have sped up my system as well. Great product! Thank you! all good except defective suction cups
December 19, 2017
Out of the box, both suction cups showed damage to the suction surface, in the form of divots or creases, possibly from having been pressed against another object for a period of time. One of the cups held suction, but the other did not. Customer service was excellent, sending out a replacement suction cup in short order, but I was a little annoyed that I had to make extra effort just to get a functional kit. In any case, we got the new drive installed, and three weeks in, it is working just fine with plenty of room for my files, no complaints there. Installation was smooth, drive made mac run faster.
November 8, 2017
Installation was very straightforward using video instructions on website. Installation kit was well worth the additional cost, and my Mac runs better than it ever has. Perfect hard drive replacement kit
June 11, 2017
My hard drive to my wonderful iMac 27" broke down after nearly seven years of faithful duty and I wondered if I should throw the complete computer away or go for a repair kit. I choosed the latter and was surprised by the quick delivery all the way to Sweden and the fair price. The instructions are very good, even though I was afraid to tear off some of the thin cables in my work. I managed to make the hard drive transplantation in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Swapping the hard drive was the fun part of the job (as it was successful). Then came the boring part with installing from Time Machine and knowing that I've lost one month of data, as the backup was old. I would recommend this item to a friend! This was so EASY
June 6, 2017
Easy as 123 doesn't do this repair/upgrade justice. Follow the video and you can't go wrong. The only improvement would be a screw holder so the magnets don't snatch the screws as you put them back. the kit and associated online video were excellent
May 14, 2017
Even though it's a rather complex set of steps to replace the disk on an iMac, the kit and video provided everything I needed to get the job done rather quickly. The hybrid drive performs better than the original standard hard disk.
Although I had a couple of my own tools like a screwdriver and a pair of tweezers on hand, I didn't really need anything outside of the kit. And the video provides enough detail to get all the connections right. The unit powered up, with no issue since.

This kit has it all!
May 9, 2017
This kit made the unfortunate event of a failed iMac boot drive very straightforward to replace. All the necessary tools worked as expected and the hard drive is humming along. In conjunction with the how-to video it was a fun project. There are two things to point out in case it helps others: 1. On the back of the original hard drive there's a bumper pad. Be sure to transplant that onto your new hard drive to help with vibration. 2. The video display ribbon cable is rather tricky to do solo. It's also the hardest cable to reinsert. Enlist another set of hands and it will go much easier.
I hope to not ever need this kit again, but I'm pleased with how well it worked.

Well Done.
March 15, 2017
Got the Toshiba bundle. Very happy with YouTube installation instructions and OS reestablishment and migration. Well Done. I can't rate on durability at this moment. My HDD SMART still displays as "verified". Let you know in a few years or so. The Seagate Barracuda that failed was over 4-years old My system is brand new and I did it myself. Great Customer Experience from OWC
January 30, 2017
As a person who used to build my own home PC's, who decided to let go of those headaches, and decided trust the user oriented ways of Apple, I had a pleasant OWC experience. I was able to do the labor on my own and have clear instructions that guided me through the whole process...along with additional trustworthy support in case I needed it. My only 2¢ to add (which was well received by OWC's feedback) is that when opening my 7-year old iMac for the first time, there was 7-years worth of dust in there. Don't forget to grab a can of air if you're in the same boat with a HDD failure. I would recommend this item to a friend! Perfect replacement kit
January 6, 2017
My original drive was replaced under a recall after it failed in 3 years. Now 3 years later, the replacement drive also failed. This kit let me install a drive without the temp sensor built in by including an external sensor, and let me double my capacity as well. This kit included everything needed to install the drive, and the video tutorial explained how to do it step by step. My iMac is running as good as new now and I couldn't be happier. Great upgrade!
December 17, 2016
Just installed this drive in my late 2009 iMac and what a difference in performance. I suspect my original drive was failing because the computer was almost useless with how slow it was. The online videos were very good. The hardest part of the job was reinserting the vertical sync cable once I was finished. I used Time Machine restore to reinstall my previous information (1.3 TB worth) which took about 8 hours. Overall very happy with the choice! I would recommend this item to a friend! Perfect Drive to Solve My iMac Problem!
November 21, 2016
I've got a seven year old 27" iMac that still does everything I need it to do. However, when I tried to upgrade the iMac to MacOS Sierra, the install program complained that I couldn't install it because my old HD was failing. Sure enough, it was failing so I decided to replace it with this model. Thanks to the complete install kit and excellent online instructions provided by OWC, the installation went relatively smoothly. The new SSHD is so much better than the old. First of all, it has twice the storage (my old drive was getting full) but being a hybrid drive, is also so much faster now. Bootup time for the iMac is at least 2/3rds faster than before, and true to its specs, the SSHD obviously does figure out what programs I run most often since they too now load much faster than before. All told, this is a great upgrade for the iMac and hopefully will extend the life of this fine computer for a few more years! I would recommend this item to a friend!
