Details

  • Windows LTFS is end-of-life and no longer supported by IBM. The final available version is 2.4.5. Windows LTFS will no longer receive any updates including bug fixes.
  • Users continuing to use Windows LTFS can consider using TeraCopy or Canister for writing data.

Troubleshooting

  • There is a known issue within Windows which affects LTFS capabilities on writing data after the following Windows Security Patches:
    • Windows 10 Security Patch version KB5025221 – April 11th, 2023
    • Windows 11 Security Patch version KB5023706 - March 14th, 2023
  • Users may receive the following error message: “An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x800703E6: Invalid access to memory location.”
    • Unfortunately, as Windows LFTS is now end-of-life, there will be no updates to fix this bug. Users can consider using TeraCopy or Canister for writing data.
