Should I send in my whole computer?
A:
Yes, please send in your whole computer. Please be aware that you should NOT send any peripherals or cabling with it. OWC will not be responsible for any cables or peripherals sent with a computer.

What if I want to do the upgrade work myself? Does OWC sell just the processors?
A:
OWC does sell Intel processors, but highly recommends professional installation. Due to the nature of the upgrade, OWC does not provide support for this user-installed upgrade. Please see product description and specific warranty listing for more information.

What if my processor is dead? Can I send in the processor tray and get a working unit?
A:
If your processor tray, processor and heat sink are not in original, fully functional condition, please contact an OWC support representative to discuss options.

Can I have my memory upgraded at the same time?
A:
Yes. Please note that only memory ordered as part of the OWC Turnkey Processor Upgrade Program for 2013 Mac Pro Models will be installed. Memory ordered at another time or added separately to the cart will not be installed.

Does my original memory qualify for rebate if removed?

As long as fully functional, yes. For your reference, OWC posts all current rebates here. Please note these are subject to change. Actual amount will be based on the rate posted the day the memory is received.

Can I upgrade from a single processor to a dual processor?

No. The 2013 Mac Pro only supports installation of one processor.

How do I send in my Mac Pro?
A:
When you place your order, a specifically designed box will be sent to you. Please pack your Mac Pro in the manner laid out in the included printed material. Failure to pack your Mac Pro as laid out in the printed material may result in damage to your computer. OWC will not be responsible for any computers damaged during shipping due to improper packing.

How do I ship the box with the Mac Pro to you?

After sealing the box, attach the included shipping label.

How long will the upgrade process take?
A:
OWC will ship the upgraded processor tray within 48 business hours excluding weekends and holidays. Shipped time will vary depending upon geographic location and shipping methods chosen.

What if I change my mind?
A:
If you cancel prior to your order being invoiced, there is no cancelation fee. If the order has been invoiced, there will be a 5% cancelation fee plus any applicable shipping costs. Please note that the order is invoiced prior to OWC receiving your processor tray in order to stage all the necessary components, which allows for the fastest turnaround.

Can the upgrade be reversed?
A:
As long as the upgraded processor tray has not been tampered with or damaged, you can choose to revert your processor within 30 days from invoice date. There will be a 20% reversal fee, which includes the labor to do the reversal and ground shipping of the reverted unit back to you. There will be no warranty provided on the reverted processor.

What kind of warranty is included with this upgrade?

The OWC Turnkey Upgrade Program comes with up to a
1 Year OWC Limited Parts & Labor Warranty. This limited Warranty includes:
- Labor to repair or replace upgrade program components;
- The upgrade program components themselves; and
- All original factory components still installed in the Mac Pro with the exception of the factory installed SSD.**

Are there extended warranties available?

Yes, OWC offers an Extended Limited Warranty of up to 3 years.

What is covered by the Extended Limited Warranty?
A:
To give Mac Pro upgrade program participants maximum comfort and assurance, OWC's extended warranty covers labor, upgrade program components, and all still installed original factory components, except for the factory installed SSD, for up to 3-Years.** The length of the Extended Limited Warranty is based upon invoice date of the original Mac Pro purchase. Parts and labor to replace or repair defective hardware, factory original or upgrade program components, is covered for up to 3 years from the date of the original Mac Pro purchase. (Ex. A Mac Pro purchased on 8/1/2011 will have coverage until 7/31/2014 regardless of when the upgrade is performed.)

What can I do if I already bought an Extended Apple Car® Warranty?

You can chose to keep your Extended Apple Care® Warranty at your discretion. Apple does have a provision allowing you to cancel their Extended Apple Care® Warranty within 30-Days less the costs of any repairs and, potentially, a $25 fee dependent upon the laws of your state of residence. Please see your Apple Care Warranty documents for full details.

Are the OWC warranties transferable?

The initial Standard Limited Warranty is not transferable, but the additional Extended Limited Warranty is fully transferable.
Q:
Does this program void my included or extended manufacturer warranty?
A:
Nothing being performed should void your warranty entirely. However, OWC cannot guarantee the actions of the original manufacturer. OWC encourages consumers to familiarize themselves with their consumer rights per US law and the regulations set forth by the original product manufacturer.

What if I have a problem with the upgrade? Can I take it to any repair shop?
A:
All warranties are void if the upgraded OWC-Installed Mac Pro is opened by anyone other than an OWC Certified Technician. OWC is not responsible for any components removed or rendered inoperable by any other technician. To ensure the best service on your upgrade, please contact OWC should any issue arise.

Who is responsible for the shipping on a return?
A:
For customers within the 48 contiguous United States, OWC will cover ground shipping to and from our facility. For customers outside of the contiguous United States or for customers needing expedited shipping, prevailing shipping rates apply.

What if OWC determines that the cause of the issue is not a warrantable issue?
A:
Should it be determined that there is no actual issue or the issue is the result of something not covered by warranty, a fee of $149 will be assessed to cover the bench time and any standard freight costs.

Will my 2013 Mac Pro pass Apple Diagnostics with a different processor installed?
A:
Due to changes made in newer revisions of the EFI for this machine, not all machines will pass Apple Diagnostics with a processor upgrade installed. However, OWC performs real world load testing on each machine to ensure it is in perfect working order before shipping it back to you.
