Halo was one of the most anticipated games last year. Developed by Bungie, a legendary Macintosh game company, they defected to the Microsoft camp and took Halo with them as the flagship game of the then not yet released xBox.
Bottom line - it really was worth waiting for. Halo is all it was touted to be, one of the best games of it's kind.
Testing Halo could not be more simple. Simply check the "TimeDemo" box in the initial startup window, with the following settings to duplicate this performance test:
Shaders: None (varies between cards too much - none is more of a fair test between brands), no FSAA, 1024x768 resolution, 32 bit color. All other details set to the standard defaults.
Halo is a game that is definitely not bound by the CPU you're running, it's limiting factor is the graphics card. Sure, a faster processor will gain you FPS but as long as your card is "modern", you'll be able to enjoy Halo- as long as you have a decent processor upgrade. Don't expect miracles if you have an un-upgraded G4 just because you bought a great new graphics card.
