NewerTech Batteries: Recharging Issues

If you are having trouble recharging a NewerTech battery, make sure the power cord is connected and restart your Mac. If the battery indicator shows a charge symbol after the Mac has restarted, shut down the computer and allow the battery to charge fully before using it again. 

If there is no change in charging behavior after the restart, attempt an SMC Reset and then try to recharge the battery again. The steps for performing an SMC reset vary by Mac type. Please use the document linked below to determine what the steps should be.

After the SMC reset, allow your battery to recharge for several hours with the computer turned off to see if these steps made a difference.
