In limited testing, the OWC ThunderBay 4 mini was found to draw power within the ranges shown below. Examples for both hard drives and SSDs are provided. Please note that within each category, the amount of power drawn will vary slightly based on drive manufacturer and model.

Hard Drive (HDD)

Drive active: 19.5W

Drive idle: 11W

OS Sleep / Hibernation: 0W

Mercury 6G SSD

Start up: 15W

Drive active: 21W
