Users may experience the drives of the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-Port Hub not being recognized by the host system when waking from sleep. Users who have this experience can download and apply a firmware update that will properly mount the drives of the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-Port Hub when waking from sleep. Users who are not comfortable completing this process should have a return authorized so OWC can update the device's firmware. 

Mac Firmware Update Instructions

1. Ensure the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-Port Hub is disconnected from the Mac system.
   
   
2. Mac systems with a T2 security chip or Apple silicon processor will need to enable third party developers before proceeding with the firmware update. Complete Apple's instructions for enabling third party developers:

3. Download the firmware update ZIP file “Mac Sleep Firmware Update for OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-Port Hub” by visiting the Downloads section of the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-Port Hub Product Support page.
   
   
4. Access the Downloads folder and open the downloaded DMG file titled "OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-port Hub – Asm105-220908".
   1. The DMG file will open showing a folder titled "OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-port Hub – Asm105-220908".
      1. Move the folder to the Desktop.
         
         
5. Open the folder "OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-port Hub – Asm105-220908" from the Desktop which will contain a firmware kernel extension .bin file "220908_B5_4F_83.bin", firmware updater application titled "Asm105FwUpdate_Sample" and PDF/Word instructions for completing the firmware update process.
   
   
6. Open the PDF/Word instructions and proceed through the provided steps to continue with the firmware update.

1. Ensure the OWC device is powered and connected to a compatible system with the included data cable.
   
   
2. Download the firmware update ZIP file “PC Sleep Firmware Update for OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-Port Hub” by visiting the Downloads section of the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual 3-Port Hub Product Support page.
   
   
3. Access the system Downloads folder and open the downloaded compressed folder. The compressed folder will open showing a compressed firmware update file, and PDF/Word instructions for completing the firmware update process. Before accessing the firmware update folder, open the instructions and proceed through the provided steps.
