Some hard drives are not formatted properly to work "as is" in an external enclosure.
If you have files on the hard you are moving, you need to back up your data before you install the drive into the enclosure. After the backup is complete, we recommend that you install the hard drive into the enclosure and then start clean by reformatting the drive for your OS.
