Rating: 4/5 Great product. Not the service I expected. December 18, 2024 I have been a Mac user since the days of the Apple IIe and have never been disappointed. I have purchased many accessories and several used laptops from OWC/Macsales.com. The Apple 16" MacBook Pro was received in the condition described and I am very pleased. The Retina Touch Bar is something I need to get used to, but so far it seems simple enough. Transferring my data and applications from my current MacBook Pro went easier than expected. What I was not pleased with was the advertising of "In Stock: Ships Same Day!" The computer and accessories were ordered Tuesday, November 26, 2024 - 1:10PM Central Time. The computer did not ship until Friday, November 29, 2024. Granted, Thursday, November 28, 2024 was a holiday, but I placed the order two days before the holiday and early enough in the day to be ready for same day shipping. The accessories were shipped separately and the delivery was attempted on Friday, November 29, 2024. The delivery was sent with a signature required and even though I have a release signed with UPS, the package was rescheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024. Unbeknownst to me, it was only the accessories that were delivered, not the computer. I was never informed that the computer shipment was delayed. The delay interfered with other obligations and I was not available to sign for delivery until Tuesday, December 3, 2024. When I notified macsales.com of the problem, their response was "UPS ground did deliver in the time allowable with a holiday mixed in." They took no responsibility for delaying the shipment. OWC/macsales.com has a wide variety of products and good prices, but I have learned not to rely on their shipping claims. I hope this is not indicative of other areas of service from this company.

Rating: 5/5 New to me, MB Pro 16" - 2019 December 4, 2024 I was ready for a new MacBook Pro, so as I do, I went to MacSales and did some shopping. I had been running a 13" MBP but decided I should splurge and treat myself with a 16" setup. I found this 2019 16" MBP and selected the 'Very Good Condition' model for a few dollars more. I think that upgrade is totally worth it. The description was accurate and I was expecting some minor things but was not worried. My previous experiences with MacSales told me all was good and I'd be delighted with the purchase. Turns out as I opened the box then the MBP I was happily surprised to see such a clean and ding-free MBP. The keyboard and speaker deck was pristine. I used this thing like crazy for the first few days and everything was perfect, it really was difficult to tell this was pre-owned. Turns out after a week or so I finally found the reason this was "only" labeled as 'Used - Very Good Condition,' the leading edge of the lid has some tiny nicks that are noticable only when running your fingers along that edge. See the pic and know that I am on macro photo mode and this is a small section of the entire length of the lid! If I ever carry the MBP w/o a case, I usually carry by the hinge side, thus I never felt the lid leading edge for a while. I consider this minor damage to be 100% insignificant but I am pleased that MacSales is so honest and kind with their scoring on pre-owned gear. Thank you MacSales.

Rating: 4/5 Almost perfect November 15, 2024 The laptop is as described, but there was one issue. The incorrect charger, and charger cord, were sent. The cord was very obviously not for this laptop. A MagSafe cord was sent, when a USB-C cord was required. Fortunately the incorrect charger brick was usable, and I had a USB-C to USB-C cord that I could use. Other than that, the selection and service from OWC was great as always. I just wish the Canadian version of OWC had had the same selection of refurbished products so I could avoid the extra shipping time.

I did get it, though, and was very impressed with the packing. The MacBook is in great shape, like new. (I hope it stays that way for a long time.) Getting the contents restored turned out to be easy, once I found that the Migration Tool would work with an external disk's Super Duper backup files.
