Deceptive return practice.

Upon purchasing the laptop for $130, I notated in the description the limits of updating the operating system. Once I received the computer I added the programs and updates which I needed to use. Only then did I discover a limitation of a program I used which could not work due to the older operating system.
When I requested an RMA I only received an email stating it needed to be received by MacSales within a particular timeframe accompanied by a bar code. The email did not mention was I am responsible for shipping and subject to a restocking fee; which cost $45 total in the end. I only discovered these tow terms when I made two separate calls to MacSales.
The first call was to verify the shipping requirements and me needing to pay for it which cost $20. They spoke rough English and there was no mention of a restocking fee. I made the second call after I saw the return to my credit card which was far from the total amount I paid for the laptop. I spoke to someone who barely spoke English and would only repeat the company policies verbatim and clearly had no concern what-so-ever for the dilemma I was in.
To add insult to injury, prior the the second phone call I already placed an order for a newer laptop which cost four times as much as the original, which they should clearly see this in my purchase history and give some type of consideration. Since I lost $45 to return of a $130 laptop and now spent over $500 for another laptop, I will be done doing business with MacSales and will suggest others to shop elsewhere. Most useful apple engineered portable computer ever ! Personal opinion.

Years of contracting far afield from where Heart-home always was.
Set me on course building my own computers for communications with art /graphics capabilities.
Microsoft exclusively, now always avoided by me.
Apple no better really in terms of trust.
Build quality coupled with ease of operation over the competition influenced buying a MacBook Pro.
Unluckily that year was 2011, for your information that was the year monumental aberrational graphics defects were "built-in".
Leading to today using a second-hand 2012 Mac-Mini also a used MacBook Air 11" 2015 both from OWC.
I have tried the 13" 2015 "Air" model.
A little too ungainly in my view for easy portability .
The 11" is to my mind the most "life-style" easy computer I would recommend for daily life human integration.
Some external case "scarring" comes with descriptions of "good-condition".
This is of no consequence to functional operations.
More than fifty years electrical / mechanical experience had my hand-crafted "re-newing" of pristine appearance swiftly restored.
Go for it , if like myself you dislike touch-screen operated "over-priced" portable computers (iPhone / iPad etc.)
"Go and produce more like this ! "
I would command to Apples' design and development section leaders.

Excellent laptop

I love the 11" macbook air. They don't make these anymore so if you want a great small laptop, order one before they run out. This is the second one I have bought. Honest Option for Low Cost MacBooks

Needed an inexpensive MacBook air to take on an overseas trip for university classes. Loaded Mac OS Monterey 12.6.6 (it won't run on a newer OS) onto this 11 inch late 2015 MacBook AIr. Also added MS Office 2021, all our university apps work OK - Canvas, ArcGIS, Story Maps, etc.
Really didn't want to take a new expensive MacBook Air due to serious concerns about breakage, theft, etc. with the airlines and hotels. If someone else makes off with this one then I'm only out a few hundred dollars instead of a thousand dollars or more. Sad to have to think on those terms but unfortunately that's the world we live in. I would recommend this item to a friend! Nice computer but charger was defective

I gave it a four star because when I received my computer, the charging mechanism sparked and wouldn’t charge the computer. It took a long time to get a replacement, but finally did. These units have some stories to tell, and are perfect for those seeking that “lived in” look. They may have scratches, nicks, dents, and screen marks from the keyboard which is normal wear and largely unnoticeable when in use. The power adapter and/or data cables may have reinforced cable patching. Images shown are examples from actual units, but exact unit condition will vary.
What you are describing on the machine should be within grade however we would need to see the individual unit to be sure. I do show you have been working with our support team and had asked you for photos of the machine to look into this for you further, which you declined.
