Nice clean Mac Mini still worth it

This was my second purchase from OWC/MacSales.com and the unit was very nice and clean, looks like new. And the Mac Mini works great. ( My first purchase was a new unit and it was great )
However, this time outer box packaging was a bit lacking, supposed to be DHL but had old Fedex lables, ( very unprofessional ) and made you wonder how it survived the shipping and delivery. ( I guess had it not been for the air-filled packaging surrounding the unit, it might have not survived. ) The unit was just open and exposed. And the cord was just randomly thrown in there.
So, the packing was not presentable, very unprofessional looking, and made the unboxing presentation a let down. (And no original Apple box or anything else, although it was a pre-owned unit but still ? )

Became a little warm at times.

Good hardware, but software issue

It took a bit of time for the order to ship after paying for the shipping. Once the item arrived it was q quick set up and the sucker rocks! Even though it is a 2018 intel MacMini, this sucker performs. Lightroom, PhotoShop, Capture One, some video editing, and music production all on a i5 with 32 gigs of ram runs great! The product was spotless, looked new! I will keep buying from OWC. I would recommend this item to a friend!

I bought this mini just for recording. I was a great deal for an older but brand new Mac mini with 32 gigs of ram. Small amount of storage but enough for Logic and I store my files on an external drive. The savings over a new mini paid for a new audio interface, drum machine and wireless headphones. Last OBS setup with minimum space.

I bought this macmini for the sole purpose for streaming games and using OBS using Windows 10. Even though this mini came with the latest OS installed I bootcamped Windows 10 and then after continued to remove all Mac functions and made it a Windows machine. I now can run up to 93% of most games available with my setup and now in the process to use it as my primary gaming machine. Along with my previously owned 2014 Macmini, I use it as a dedicated streaming machine for OBS and twitch. The 2018 is the last Intel Macmini that can be bootcamped without the need of a third party program. I would recommend this item to a friend! Perfect for me

The item arrived brand new and sealed.
This intel MacMini although it's from 2018 it is still very efficient and doesn't feel slow (although I am not using it for highly demanding software). I purchased the 32 Gb memory option, which probably helps this configuration stay current even today.
If you need a mac-mini and don't care about using the intel one, then this option is a lovely option.

Thank you for the review Avileibo, we agree if you're looking to stick with intel this would be the ideal model Mac Mini for you. It's going to be fast enough for modern needs, the only real concern is the soldered internal SSD. Make sure it's large enough for your needs, or prepare an external option for your programs as it can't be updated it was initially manufactured.

Mighty Mac Mini ! 6-core i7 / 3.2GHz

I owned a couple minis in the past. They were ok, but never felt like they were quite enough. There was always a noticeable difference compared to working on my MacPro’s and MacBookPros. This 6-core i7 with 64Gb of Ram and 1Tb SSD, however, is a little powerhouse! I bought it for my camper when traveling, so I wouldn’t have to drag my MacPro around with me, because space is a premium in an RV. The small footprint is ideal, and the performance/speed is exceptional. OWC/MacSales upgraded and shipped it within a day, and the prices can’t be beat! I would recommend this item to a friend! This is a great Mac mini and absolutely fantastic low price.
I don’t know how they do it but this Mac mini is a steal.
I also own an M1 2020 Mac mini…..I like the fact that there are 4 usb c ports with this 2018 intel Mac, instead of the 2 on the newer M1 mini.
The space gray color is nice too.
And it’s a Mac!!!!
Also can upgrade ram, unlike the M1 Mac.
Totally pleased with this purchase.

Great machine at a great price

I got this for my wife's Xmas present and, boy, was she surprised. She set it up and was up and running in no time. Immediately upgraded to Monterey and now is installing all her software (which will take some time). I only wish that it had supported a more capacious SSD, but a fast HDD connected to a USB-C port takes care of that.
It's connected to a 27˝ 4K monitor via HDMI and it's a sight to behold. And there's where Apple's lack of interest comes in. This Mini doesn't support display sleep properly. The display shuts down and doesn't come back, requiring a reboot. She was with an Apple service rep for hours and it's a bug that Apple acknowledges but won't fix. It's not a huge deal but it's irksome since Apple tends to withdraw feature support and just digs in.
Other than that, she's very happy with her machine and she's looking forward to many hours of creative work.
