Rating: 4/5 Works until it doesn't: 2 year life: buy a spare March 22, 2017 Upon acquiring a Thunderbolt MacbookPro as a desktop computer, I needed to connect my 9 external drive Firewire daisy chain. This adapter worked fine, for right about 2 years. Then, I started having mysterious connectivity and random unmounting of volumes issues with my 9 external drives. Finally, swapped out the 2 year old adapter with a fresh one I had bought from OWC as a spare, and all the issues evaporated.

Rating: 5/5 Great answer to limited iMac I/O June 8, 2016 I was doing some upgrades/recapitalization to my system, and wanted to use a fast external drive to migrate some things off my internal drive, and as a backup. The only free I/O I had on my iMac was the two TBolt ports, and even with a hub the USB 2.0 ports were going to make for tedious migration of data anyway. This little adapter allowed me to use one of the TBolt ports that I wasn't using for anything else, without buying an expensive new TBolt drive. It works great, and I'm very happy with the configuration it allows.

Rating: 4/5 Solid but pricey. April 26, 2016 As with most Apple accessories, they work well but, you will pay a premium for them. I am using this adaptor to run two older external firewire drives and so far, it has performed flawlessly.

Rating: 4/5 Works perfectly November 28, 2015 Everything is great, except the price, as always the price for Apple components is too high.
