Rating: 3/5 Does not support multiple disk enclosure April 10, 2019 Works find for a single disk. However, it does not support mounting multiple disks. So with a 4 drive JBOD enclosure (using Softraid), only the first is visible.

Please update the web site to state that it only supports a mounting a single drive and therefore will not work with JBOD configuration and Softraid.

Response from OWC, Call Center April 10, 2019 Hello! We are very sorry to hear about any issues you may have been having with your NewerTech eSATA to USB adapter. We do have a note on the website stating that this does not support Port Multiplication, which would be required for a multi-disk unit. We do apologize if this was unclear in anyway.

Rating: 5/5 Excelent! July 4, 2018 My old "Newer Technology miniStack v3 eSATA/FireWire/USB2.0 Enclosure Kit with Integrated FW/USB Hubs" is alive again. It works at great speed thanks to the eSATA adapter. Cheap and wonderful solution.

Rating: 5/5 Works perfectly! March 26, 2016 Great product and personally very much needed as there is less and less eSata connections available on the outside of PC's. Used this with my very old Voyager Q dock and it worked fine. Great transfer rate.

Rating: 5/5 Easy connection and works great December 4, 2015 Had an old Iomega 500GB drive which was used as an expansion drive for the DVR box. Using this eSATA adapter with the old drive, plugging in into an open USB 3.0 port on my PC provides 500GB of new storage space for the PC, on a separate drive.

Rating: 5/5 a great solution for my legacy drives August 20, 2015 I have Firewire to Thunderbolt, but that has been unreliable for me, and it is slow. My personal experience with USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt has been that they provide about the same speed with moving drives. So, this eSATA to USB 3.0 adapter has been great. I speed tested this adapter on a G-Raid with USB 3.0 and eSATA with the adapter was only a few Kbs slower than the USB 3.0 connection. Also, I got much better speeds via this adapter and eSATA than I did with Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt.

Rating: 5/5 Great adapter if you have powered ports August 16, 2015 I use this with my MacBook Pro via my OWC 12 Port Thunderbolt 2 Dock.

The MacBook Pro does not provide enough power to run this directly off the Mac, but my Dock does. It makes and old eSATA/USB 2.0 useful again.

Rating: 5/5 Excellent Solution March 10, 2014 Plug and play. Does just what is says and does it well. Haven't seen the full USB 3 spec, 5 GB/sec throughput but transfer speeds are extremely fast.

If you do not use the supplied USB 3 cable (very short), make sure you use a "USB 3" cable!

I would definitely recommend this solution for USB 3 to eSATA.

Rating: 5/5 Excellent tool! February 24, 2014 This adapter has given new life to an old USB2/FW800/eSATA hard drive. I had stopped using this drive because I moved to a new MacBook Pro that did not have FW800 ports, USB2 was way too slow and my MBP did not have any way to connect via eSATA - that is until now. The connection is as fast as it was using native eSATA, but now with the convenience of USB! I couldn't be happier! However, if I could change one thing, it would be that the USB3 cable was just a little longer. To the people who are unhappy with this device: I think you are trying to use this adapter to connect USB 3 drives to an eSATA port. This device only works one way, which is eSATA device to USB3 on your computer. I do not know of any device that will connect a USB3 hard drive to an eSATA port.
