Won't hold a charge when laptop in sleep mode. Was this battery new when I received it?

Bought the battery, expensive but quickly delivered. Installed it using your excellent video instructions, but it didn't work. Your agent tried his best to help me. Bravo! But the device remained a paperweight. Local aid did help in sugesting a plug-in mouse to substitute for the inopperative touch pad. I can now type, get e-mail, etc. But an old Macbook Air is effectively a useless device for most purposes. But as always, OWC was on the case, did all that it could, and kept me as a very long-term happy customer. I'm a lot happier with OWC than with Apple. I'll keep using both, OWC with pleasure and satifaction, Apple because I'm trapped in its Ecosystem. Score: OWC, five stars. Apple, pain in the posterior.

Replaced my battery in my 2013 macbook air. Unfortunately even with this battery I get less than an hour of use with only firefox running and all other apps being closed. Not sure if the battery is bad or if macos doesnt like the battery. If macsales is willing to send a replacement I am willing to try another unit if I received a dud.
