I have been a customer of OWC for over 20 years and they have never failed to impress me with their service. My latest purchase was a replacement battery for my 2017 MBP 13". It came with all the necessary tools for installation including protective equipment, solvent for removing the old battery, and a soft pad to put between the keyboard and screen while working on the MBP. Installed the battery, followed their instructions for initial charging of the battery and it's up and working beautifully. I'll share the stupidity on my part that preceded the purchase from OWC - TL: dr version, I knew better but tried to save a buck. I tried to cheap out and buy one from Amazon for $50. Of course it came without the tools, so there went another $30+ for the appropriate tools (I lost my previous set in a move!). I had torn down the MBP, removed the old battery, cleaned up everything and installed the new el-cheapo one from Amazon only to discover it had a bad cell. One of the three cells was swollen to nearly double the thickness of the other batteries. This should have never made it out of the factory. I then contacted Amazon, but I had bought it more than 30 days ago so they would not do a refund. I tried contacting the "highly responsive 4+ star" seller only to discover the email and telephone number were out of service. I fought with Amazon and finally received a replacement. Between time, the original battery, and the tool kit, I spent far more than I would have if I had simply ordered it through OWC in the first place. I knew better, but tried to go cheap and it bit me.
