Rating: 4/5 Sorks OK August 19, 2016 Used it on my old Mac G5 and most of the time it worked OK. I was able to get to sites and take care of business. OK price too.

Rating: 5/5 New Life for my old G5 August 11, 2016 I got this product as a last resort to get a wifi connection for my Mac G5. I tried another brand first with no luck (did not improve the signal), and then read that this one should work with an older computer. It took just a couple of minutes to read the instructions, plug in the USB and get a strong wifi signal. Yes! Now I can get an Internet connection on my trusty old G5 -- a still-useful relic from the last century which I use as a backup. This adapter is a great little gizmo at a reasonable price.

Rating: 5/5 Almost perfect May 12, 2016 I've had this attached to a 2007 mac mini for a couple of years and it works really well! It will very occasionally drop the WIFI signal, but I'd say that happens 5% of the time or less. I'm super happy with it!

Rating: 4/5 Good product July 11, 2015 Seems a very good product. However I`m finding my G5 Power Mac working better by using Ethernet rather than Wireless at the moment.

Rating: 5/5 Works great in Mavericks January 10, 2015 Bought this for my son's 2008 Mac Tower. It was an old tower that was being thrown out at work. Since it was bought for the office, it had no Airport card. I managed to get Mavericks working on it even though it was not officially supported. After installing the software and going thru the setup instructions (this is important) it found my wireless router and my son was surfing. Cheap, small and gets the job done.

Rating: 4/5 Inexpensive and convenient once you get it set up December 24, 2013 Got this last week. So far very happy with it. Inexpensive and convenient. The software install is a bit clunky and took some patience to get the prefs right - the third party drivers seem a bit old. But it works fine after that and the tweeking is only necessary the once. After that it is plug-and-play. Once set up it seems to work great so far. I have a few older iMacs I brought home from the office (couldn't stand to throw them away). They don't have airport cards and I didn't want tot spend for them and have to install. With this I can easily share the one device and update software or use the internet on any one of the computers - without having to open it up. Good stuff.

Rating: 4/5 Great replacement for my Mac Pro's card but some issues. December 10, 2013 My 2009 Mac Pro and I suspect entire Mac Pro line has always had Airport issues. The card and antenna are surrounded by several millimeters of aluminum and I've noticed that this would cause connection issues the farther away from my Airport. I bought this with hopes of it alleviating my problems and it did. Once set up it connects instantly to my Airport upon startup, it connects faster than Skype can open. I have yet to have any connection errors while online gaming or while other computers accessing my Pro over our shared network. There is one major issue though and this may be restricted to only me, my Pro cannot wake from sleep while the Ralink connection software is running. Upon trying to put my Pro to sleep, the fans kick up and the white powerlight never dims, and pressing buttons does nothing. This is only a minor inconvenience for me as but if you frequently put your computer to sleep I would think carefully about purchasing this. My issue may be related to the OS, I am still running10.6 and will be upgrading to 10.9 soon. I will update this review once I upgrade.

Rating: 5/5 Great range & speed. June 2, 2013 Far better than any Airport card I have. Tried on G4 Minis, eMacs, G5 Quad, Intel iMac 2007, & lastly on Intel Mini, which gets indoors through 2 walls & many obstacles on the walls to a Router 30' away, & delivers about 2/3rds the speed of direct connection to the Router. Airport cards could not even pick up the Router one bit from the same room. Using 802.11G, as that is all the Router has & I hear 802.11n doesn't do walls well anyway. :)

Rating: 4/5 Affordable and Effective February 22, 2013 I have bought two of these adapters. One was setup on an older HP with Windows XP and the other on a Mac Mini G4 with 10.5.8. Both were setup within minutes.

The HP machine previously had a Belkin adapter that would only get a single bar of connectivity. This NewerTech adapter is receiving 4 bars and gives the machine a huge boost in connectivity performance.

My Mac Mini G4 was setup within minutes as well.

I would recommend knowing your WiFi's security encryption and authentication type before beginning the setup process.
