Rating: 5/5 Must have for iPhone screen or battery repair. May 2, 2018 I have the misfortune of having a double play. A cracked iPhone 6 Plus screen AND the dreaded batterygate which is actually a non-issue, batteries die. Some live long, some live shorter, such is life. But in circumstances like these one must be prepared with the right tools, and this tool is the right one! In testing it for this Review, no I have not gathered up the courage to do the deed yet, I placed the device on my iPhone that still has a screen protector on it. Applied suction and it worked as advertised. Released suction, removed, where the rubber cup was there was a perfect circle of an air bubble under the screen protector. Strong suction test: Passed. Construction: Nylon, it's not just for pantyhose guys, they make tools with it these days, good tools BTW. This one is staying in my converted armoire, next to my tool roll and my watch repair tool box. Now to just gather up the courage and do this job!

Rating: 5/5 Does the job February 26, 2018 This is one of those tools that's worth the money even if you use it once. With good suction cups, removing the large glass from an iMac is no longer a daunting task.

Rating: 5/5 Work Like They Are Supposed To. February 19, 2018 Nice tool. I was fearful at first but these held strong. No worries after seeing how well they hang on. Don't chance your glass on something of less quality.

Rating: 3/5 Essential, but quality concerns December 12, 2015 I purchased two of these to help with the installation of an SSD in my Mid-2010 iMac...you really cannot do the job well without them to lift the glass off the computer safely. Sadly, one of the two I purchased wouldn't adhere to the glass and I had to do the job with only one. Hopefully, this was just an anomaly and not a common problem.

Rating: 4/5 Work, but not consistently November 10, 2015 Ordered the suction cups to aid in replacing failing hard drive in my iMac. One works as advertised the other loses suction after a minute or so, or occasionally will not attach to screen. I have managed to remove the screen on 4 iMacs but not without difficulty 3 times. Have used the suction cups replacing plexiglass portlights on my boat with the same results.

The How To videos from the OWC website are awesome.

Rating: 5/5 Good for removing iMac glass September 7, 2015 These suction cups hold very firmly when the lever is closed. It stayed attached for the hour I spent changing the hard drive in my 2007 iMac. No slippage at all.

Rating: 5/5 Great tool for accessing the drives of iMacs January 25, 2015 I have an Early 2008 24" iMac. A few years ago I had some issues with the superdrive and after a frustrating few months where the drive would sporadically fail during a movie or an installation. I was still under warranty and finally contacted apple to get it repaired. I saw how the technician took the iMac apart with a pair of suction cups and wondered if I would be able to get them by the time the next problem occurred and I was without warranty. A few years later my wife was having issues with her iMac (2007) and we had to pay $80 to install a new one, plus the hard drive, plus a trip to the technician to drop off and a second trip to pick up.

When it was time to replace the hard drive on my children's iMac(2007), I was happy to find the suction cups available on OWC. I was a little nervous about the install but the installation videos on OWC were easy to follow, even though they listed the hard drive install as involved. I was able to replace the hard drive easily and saved some money and time on the install. This past weekend I had to replace the hard drive on my iMac and the suction cups were used again.

I also purchased the NewerTech 14 piece toolkit and these tools made the jobs of replacing the hard drives a lot easier.

I am so happy I found them here and would recommend them to any owner of an iMac that is out of warranty.

If you are a mac user OWC should be a first stop for any peripheral or replacement part purchase. The times when I have spoken to presales representatives, they have been informative and have always been happy with their recommendations. I have been shopping here for years and expect to continue in the future.

Rating: 5/5 cute lil' sucker June 5, 2014 Makes it very easy to remove the glass from a 20" iMac. My mistake, I thought there were 2 in the kit, but one was all I needed to remove the glass by placing it at the top center just below the iSite camera. Perhaps with a 27" it would be better to use two.

Rating: 5/5 They Do What They Do May 22, 2014 Nothing real crazy here other than learning that the glass on my iMac is only held on with magnets that can pulled apart with a simple suction cup.

Rating: 5/5 More Than Up To The Task February 12, 2014 Before receiving the actual product and using it, I was concerned whether it was large and robust enough to handle the removal of the front glass from a 27" iMac. Those concerns were unwarranted. The Newer Tech 2.25" suction cup was more than adequate to securely hold and remove the iMac's front glass, Indeed these would have easily handled a larger, heavier panel. Note that these suction cups are sold individually, not in pairs.
