Rating: 5/5Quick serviceApril 10, 2017I ordered this to increase the RAM on my husband's Mac Book. I am relatively comfortable with computers, but had never attempted before to change memory or other hardware. The item was perfect, easy to install and my husband's computer now works like new! Rating: 5/5Working wellApril 6, 2017I wanted to update my 8 year old MacBook as far as I could so I fitted a 500GB SSD and wanted to expand the ram. Originally it came with 2GB which i later expanded to 4GB. El Capitan nearly killed it so I went back to yosemite. After reading posts here in the UK that said 4GB was the maximum, I read other posts saying with the correct boot rom version MB51.007D.B03 I could run 8GB. Tried Samsung cards but just got Kernal Errors. took the plunge and ordered OWC and bingo....works a treat! That's my Mac sorted for the next 8 years then! Thanks OWC x I would recommend this item to a friend!Customer Videos:

Rating: 5/5Purchased by MistakeMarch 31, 2017I purchased the PC3-8500 by mistake. I notified OWC of my problem and they emailed me what I needed to get my refund. I received the package and quickly put it back in the mail. Once OWC received the shipment, they reversed the payment, and my refund was in my account the same day. Rating: 5/5is like i bought a new computerMarch 31, 2017I have a macbook pro 13 mid 2010 that I was thinking of switching to a new one, but with this upgrade I think my old computer has rejuvenated. If you buy from Chile, like me, be patient because once in Chile it took more than 1 month to arrive. Rating: 5/5PerfectMarch 31, 2017Very simple steps to follow in order to replace, no need to be a computer geek....I believe that anyone capable of reading and following instructions would be able to do it.
My macbook did indeed recognise the 16GB even though Apple states that the computer has a max of 8GB. I am very happy with the new specs on my machine and would recommend this easy upgrade to anyone that currently does not have the max 16GB already installed.

Rating: 5/5Thanks for the helpMarch 29, 2017This was my first time going inside my Macbook on my own. MacSales saved me a ton of money. Thanks for helping me identify the memory chips I needed for my machine. The installation was just as simple as your video tutorial made it look. All in all a great experience. Rating: 5/5Installed in 15 minutesMarch 25, 2017Of course, having been invited by MacSales to write a review before the goods arrived, it was inevitable that the day after writing it, the two 8GB memory chips for my MacBookPro Mid 2010 arrived the next day.
The packaging is good, protecting already well packed chips with a stiff padded plastic wallet. The chips escaped French import duty, probably because the amount due was less than it would cost to collect.
It took 5 minutes to unscrew the back off the Macbook and after spudging up the battery connector for safety, a further 2 minutes to snap the old 2 x 4GB memory chips out and drop the new ones in. I spent 3 minutes reconnecting the battery and vacuuming up old dust and particles before screwing the back on again.
Within 15 minutes of starting, the MBP was up and running and a quick check in "About This Mac" showed that both new chips were recognised. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only source of functional 8GB chips for this model of MBP and anyone interested may safely ignore any warnings they read that 2 x 4GB chips is the maximum that the mid 2010 MBP can handle.
I don't have any strict benchmark checks to run comparisons before and after and this will come with experience. I expect to see faster performance in Photoshop especially with less switching between memory and hd. The Activity Monitor shows CPU usage much lower than before, but of course, this is in % and the capacity is now double. Since I installed Sierra, the fan had been coming on a lot, but so far, one day on, it has not cut in once.
My 13 inch MBP mid 2010 is a work-horse (graphics and e-book formatting) and travels a lot, whilst its 15inch retina stays unscratched at home. Compared to its original 4GB memory and 250GB spinning hard drive, it now has 16GB memory and a 1TB SSD. I am extremely happy with this latest upgrade which is a lot cheaper than buying a new model.
Rating: 5/5RAM has made a differenceMarch 23, 2017So far, so good. I referred to the site's video for installation instructions - installation was very easy and straight forward. The extra RAM (going from 4 to 8GB) has made a difference. I can't speak for long-term quality or performance yet, but at this point I'm very happy and satisfied with the product. Rating: 5/5Great quality product! easy to installMarch 23, 2017I got the package and the product was very well encapsulated and kept from harm when being delivered. It was very official and looked legit. Im not someone who knows a bunch about computer parts yet, however, I am an IT specialist, so it was very reassuring how well it was packaged and labeled. On another note, installing ram was surprisingly very easy. Be careful not to touch anything other than the sides or corners of the circuit panel. And be careful not to shove anything into place without making sure thats exactly where it goes. There are a lot of helpful videos on youtube or even on MacSales site that can help with the process. Overall, this product turned out great. I had to buy a used MacBook, 2010 to be exact, because I could not afford a brand new laptop. However I was desperate for some sort of laptop after my old one got liquid damage....beware of the distance of your coffee from your computer...so I researched used Macs and found the best bang for my buck. But I knew buying an old computer would have its downsides, so I researched and concluded that replacing the 2G ram it currently had, to 4G would be a good start. Later on I hope to replace the HDD(hard disk drive) with an SSD(solid state drive) which is just a way to increase speed and decrease the archaic technology that hard drives use to run on. This product was great though! highly recommend. Rating: 5/5Easy Memory UpgradeMarch 20, 2017I upgraded memory from 2GB to 16GB on a mid-2010 MacBook . The information you provided was extremely helpful, and accurate. The first issue to be resolved was whether this particular MacBook could accommodate 16GB . . . your information said it could, and that was correct. Next, your video led me step-by-step through the upgrade process. The instructions were very clear and accurate.
I will definitely call on you again for my next Mac need.

Rating: 5/5Great Product, great serviceMarch 16, 2017Had the early 2009 mac mini just sitting around my house and figured i'd try to fix it up. It was virtually unusable with just the 1 GB of RAM, so i opted for the maximum. I went for the 8GB which worked fine after I updated the firmware. I Installed the ram and upgraded from snow leopard to El Capitan, and its like a whole new machine. I wish I had ordered an SSD along with the RAM and done the upgrades at the same time!
