A very good kit with one silly issue - please change the double-sided pads for mounting the SSD in the optical bay. It's close to impossible to get the cover plastic off without destroying the pads, I just gave up and bought some from the hardware store.
I would recommend this product to a friend!

I purchased this SSD way back in January 2017, and 5 years later it is still being used everyday and hasn't missed a beat. I am DELIGHTED with it. Before I put it into my Mid-2011 iMac my computer was soooooo sloooooow. I wanted to throw it out the window. I had previously upgraded the RAM to 12 GB (from 4 GB) and still it was sluggish. But once I switched the Operating System on to the OWC Mercury Electra 6G SSD, it ran so fast! Boot up took less than 20 seconds. It enabled me to get many, many more years of use from my iMac, and now more than a decade later (since the original iMac's manufacture) I'm still using this computer every day. It wouldn't have been possible without the SSD making the system fast and responsive. I HIGHLY recommend this drive from OWC. However, the installation is tricky. It helps if you have another person to hold stuff for you. I did it solo, and it took me 4 hours plus! (I was being ultra-careful, and documenting it as I went.) Allow heaps of time for the install and don't rush it. But it is an upgrade that is well worth it. It really does breathe new life into an old machine. My 2011 iMac is faster and more responsive than my friends 2019 iMac - because he didn't put an SSD into it.
