Unless you still have a Mac with Firewire connections or willing to go with the slower USB-2, then this is not for you. I have been using this regularly to clone/backup my 1TB laptop. It travels with me and has seen some rough service and still works great.

This external storage solution, depending on what type of drive you put in it (SSD, Hybrid, standard), is an incredibly easy and fast way to upgrade your storage. I put a new larger SSD in my iMac, so I put the old SSD in an Elite Pro Mini, hooked it up via FireWire 800, and away it went. Super fast, completely silent and the small footprint is perfect for placement on a "Back Pack" shelf.

I have no issues with this enclosure. I used this to create a Fusion drive with my mac mini using the old SSD from my MacBook Air. The only thing I wish was different would be if it had a Thunderbolt connection. That would speed up the connection a bit. Otherwise, this has been solid and I feel comfortable bringing it with me on trips as it's a very sturdy enclosure.
