3.0Amp 5-Pin Style Power Adapter

Power Adapter compatible with certain OWC Mercury Elite, OWC Mercury Elite-AL, OWC Mercury Elite RAID FW800, OWC Neptune, Elite Pro Dual SATA, Mercury Pro FireWire 5.25" Optical, Neptune Optical, and NewerTech miniStack storage solutions/enclosures with a DC 5V/12V 2A or 3A Power Input accepting a 5-pin style connector.

Power Adapter is NOT compatible with single-pin barrel connections. For Bullet connection, single-pin power, we recommend either the 6.0A OWC Single pin Power Adapter or the 5.0A OWC Single pin Power Adapter.
Power Adapter is NOT compatible with 4-pin style connections. For 4-pin connection power, we recommend the OWC 4-Pin Power Adapter.

The CSR was terrific in helping me find the correct power source, as the connections were also "dated". He was patient and got me through the process. The power source arrived promptly and worked perfectly. A lot easier than trying to replace the drive.

Rating: 4/5 This has been a returning problem over the years May 30, 2015 I have had to replace two to three of these power bricks over the years because of failure. The hard drives keep on working just fine the the power supply fails. My friend has also had to replace one.

I know these are old devices and I am sure that OWC is supplying newer and better quality items now.

I still trust OWC for my computer accessory products. They stand behind their warranty and they make very good products.

Rating: 5/5 Perfect Replacement November 16, 2014 My original adapter failed, and I needed an exact replacement. Fortunately, I bought the original drive/adapter from OWC, so they had the requisite adapter. The replacement fit and worked perfectly.

One issue: It was unclear from the OWC webpage whether or not I needed to purchase a 110VAC power cord, so I did. However, it turned out that 1) my original power cord could be used with the replacement adapter, and 2) the new power cord I ordered didn't fit, anyway. But, it wasn't worth the effort and postage to return it, so I kept it.
