- Temperature reporting is currently an unsupported feature because due to the operating characteristics of SSDs, it is highly unlikely one would ever exceed an OWC Mercury SSD's stated operating temperature ceiling of 158F/70C. However, we are looking into supporting this feature in the future via a firmware update. Firmware updates can be found here: http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/OWC/SSD.

A decade ago, I replaced my HDD with a Crucial SSD. Hardly using the laptop as I felt the space sucked, using my newer ones, when I went in to upgrade the OsX recently, it failed. No excuses. I was afraid the laptop was dead and it wasn’t. All I needed to do was buy this drive and install it again with a bootable USB for Mac OSX. Thank you for making my laptop new again. This makes it so fast, you can’t tell it is an old computer, and I do own new computers so I’m not ancient and out of the loop. I can use everything I love. With more storage? 2TB rocks. Quickly installed some of my heavier work software on this and it works like a charm.

Upgraded a 2009 MacBook Pro running OS Catalina. The installation was super easy (15 minutes). My Mac now runs much faster and much cooler. 1 TB gives me TONS of storage and gives me over 750 GB of free space to keep many more important documents, photos, videos, and downloads. BTW, it was a great buy at a fantastic price. Once again, OWC MacSales is my "goto" computer place!
